random (logic)

Overview

Fires a random event upon activation. This block can also be used as a ref. For example, if you have a block with three outputs and then you connect an entity ref to each of them, then connect the input to the target ref of an action. The action will perform randomly on one of these entity refs.

Inputs

activateActivates the block.

Outputs

out-0, out-1, out-2,...,out-29
  • Fires one random event from out-0 to out-29.
  • You can set the number of outputs in the Output Quantity property.

Properties

Output Quantity

The number of outputs.

For example, with Output Quantity = 16 a total of 16 different outputs will be generated, and you will therefore be able to fire 16 different events based on the current value.

Usage examples

In this case, when the player is near an NPC, the NPC will play one of the three random animations.
