Entity Filter

Overview

In this window, you can work with and customize your own Entity List.

Find filter This is where you type in what you are looking for.
Ð¥ button

Cancel typing.

It is VERY easy to forget about clearing the Find field and then spend minutes wondering where all the properties are!
So, be sure to clear it up from any words or letters after locating the property you have been looking for. What you type into this field works as a filter, showing you only a handful of properties, that correspond to filter.
Use the |X| button or your Del key on a keyboard to clear the field.

Move Camera to Object

Moves the camera to the pivot of the selected object, oriented along the Z axis. This is convenient for adjusting the position of the object.

Please note that you can use the camera to move the selected object in the Move (T) mode. You can also hold the Alt key to move the camera only.

Patrol Point: Set Target to HighlightedSets a target from the selected patrol point to the highlighted patrol point.
Move to Camera PositionMoves the selected object to the camera's current position.
Move to HighlightedMoves the selected object to the highlighted point.
Rotate as HighlightedInherits the rotation of a properly placed object.
Edit ObjectEnters edit mode for some objects (like the vertex paint mode for decals).
RefreshRefreshes.
COVER: Log Debug InfoAdds a cover to the "cover evaluation" log (console commands covers_debug and cover_eval_debug must be turned on).
COVER: Remove Cover from GroupRemoves the selected cover from the group.
COVER: Select All Linked CoversSelects all linked covers in the scene.
COVER: Build AI MapBuilds an AI map quad at the position.
COVER: Remove AI MapRemoves the AI map quad at the position.
COVER: Rename by TypeGenerates a new name based on the cover type.
TERRAIN: Erase Height Map ChangesErases all height map changes for Terrain.
TERRAIN: Export LmapExports the light map for the terrain.
TERRAIN: Import Lmap

Imports the light map for the terrain.

Proxy: Select Attached ObjectsSelects attached objects for the proxy object.
Proxy: Clear Invalid LinksClears invalid links.
Entity: Select Parent Proxies

Selects proxies that are tied to this object.

Children: Detach All ObjectsDetaches all children.
Entity: Update DAORecalculates DAO.
Entity: Simulate

You can place static props in the air and simulate them dropping to the ground. This can be handy for checking, if any objects fall over or behave unexpectedly.



Entity: Select Texture PresetChooses a texture preset for the objects' model.
Entity: Detach from ProxyRemoves an entity from the proxy.
Group: OpenOpens a group.
Group: CloseCloses the group.
Group: UngroupUngroups objects in the group.
Group: Remove from GroupRemoves the object from the group.
Group: Pivot to BottomMoves the group pivot to the bottom.
Group: Pivot to CenterMoves the group pivot to the center.
Group: Pivot to World Zero

Moves the group pivot to the world zero.

Group: Restore Original Transform

Restores saved information regarding positions/rotation at the time of export.

Group: Select All Children

Selects all grouped objects.
Shape: Move Pivot to BottomMoves the shape's pivot to the bottom.
Shape: Move Pivot to CenterMoves the group's pivot to the center.
Shape: Select Entities Inside VolumeSelects entities inside the shape.
Shape: Set Cull Distance

If there is a large number of objects and you don't want to manually select them all, you can create a restrictor volume (or ‘shape’), then set the Distance Cull property to the select objects within your desired distance.

Shape: Export Covered TerrainExports terrain, covered by the shape.
Shape: Make Location ScreenshotMakes an ortho-projection screenshot of the area, covered by the shape.
Shape: Detach from ProxyRemoves the shape from the proxy.
Geom: Reset Object ScaleSets the object to (1,1,1) scale.
DECAL: Refresh GeomRefreshes the decal's geometry.
Zone: Detach All Shapes from RestrictorDetaches all shapes from the restrictor.
Detach All Shapes from obstacleDetaches all shapes from the obstacle object.
Detach All covers from groupDetaches all covers from the selected group.
Select all covers in groupSelects all covers in the group.
Clear VSClears object's script.
Attach: Detach All ObjectsDetaches all objects.
SelectionSelect AllSelects all objects on the map.
Unselect AllClears the selection.
Invert SelectionDeselects the selected, selects the deselected.
Select Bt FrustumSelects all objects in the frustum.
Crop Selection By FrustumDeselects objects that are not in the frustum.

Visibility

Frozen objects don't highlight and interfere with other useful highlights. A frozen object, as an object on a different layer, can be highlighted with clamped Ctrl+Alt

Hide SelectedHides the selected object.
Unhide SelectedUnhides the selected object.
Hide AllHides all objects in the scene.
Show AllShows all objects in the scene.
Show Only SelectedShows only the selected object.
Hide By TypeHides all objects of a certain type.
FreezeFreeze SelectedFreezes the selected object.
Unfreeze SelectedUnfreezes the selected object.
Unfreeze HighlightedUnfreezes the highlighted object.
Unfreeze All VisibleUnfreezes all visible objects.
UtilsAlign to GridSelf-explanatory.
Reset RotationSelf-explanatory.
Reset ScaleSelf-explanatory.
Change Type...Creates an object of a new type, deletes the existing one, and inherits all appropriate properties from the old one.
Multi Rename...Renames several objects.
Show VS References...

Shows all VS references.

Select VS EntitiesSelects entities that contain VS scripts.
Select Affecting LightsSelects lights that affect the current cursor position.
Select Affecting Shadow Lights

Selects shadow lights that affect the current cursor position.

Ban Models...Bans models on selected objects.
Ban Model MaterialsAll objects using this material are assigned a debug texture instead.
Trace Model ReferencesShows model references in the working folder (text search).
Log Link To ClipboardCopies the editor link to an object, to the clipboard.
Copy Camera PositionCopies the camera's position to the clipboard.
Copy Camera RotationCopies the camera's rotation position to the clipboard.
Add Selected to Entity Filter
Adds the selected object to the Entity Filter window.
Remove Selected from Entity Filter
Removes the selected object from the Entity Filter window.
Remove Selected
Removes the selected object from the scene.
Undo
Undoes the operation.
Redo
Redoes the operation.
Expand All
Expands the current list.
Collapse All
Collapses the current list.
Filter
Shows / hides the filter toolbar.
Plain Mode
Shows all items in the alphabetical order without a hierarchy.
